We have New Vials for our
Sample and 2 mL Sizes
of Essential oils
and Synergy Blends!
As you know Our essential oils and Synergies are offered in the
following sizes:
**Sample (about 15-20 drops), **2 ml, 4 ml, 10 ml, 30 ml and 50 ml
Packaged in Amber bottles (except sample size is in a clear vial)
Orifice reducers included for 4, 10, 30 & 50 ml bottles.
** BUT Beginning March 1, 2010 we are slowly changing the packaging vials for the Sample and 2 ml sizes. We are going to a Screw-top cap. There are NO ORIFICE reducers for the new vials. We strongly suggest you purchase additional disposable pipettes or glass droppers to obtain the essential oils from these new bottles. We do include ONE complimentary pipette.
DO NOT Tap the bottom and expect to get out a drop as you will get more - like the entire contents
of the vial. You must use a Disposable Pipette or Glass Dropper to get your essential oils out.
WHY DID WE MAKE THE CHANGE?
There are several reasons we are making the change but by in large it is from customer input - feedback - and too many complaints about the old style - Perfumer's vials and the 2mL Shorties.
Plus we needed to be able to have a better labeling surface for the information we
need to provide for the products we sell. And the small 1/2" labels on the old style vials was not sufficient.
As many of you know that have purchased the Perfume Vials and/ or the 2ml "Shorties" have found you can easily lose a lot of your essential oils when you open the Perfumers vials. OR in the case of the Shorties the essential oils just won't drop out so you have to remove the Orifice reducer and use a pipette anyway.
And then once you have the Orifice reducer out you might set down the 2mL Shortie and 'oops' it gets bumped over and ALL your precious oil spills out.
With these new style vials, you can accidently knock them over and they do not spill out the entire contents. We tested them here several times and when 'bumped' over only a drop MIGHT come out. For the most part you should lose only a tiny amount compared to if the Perfume vial or 2 mL Shortie would fall over.
Anyway, for a short time we tried shipping out the 2 mL Shorties without an orifice reducer from a suggestion from one of our customers but then another person not realizing there was not orifice reducer just tipped the bottle up and again all their oils were out on the table.
As for the Perfumer's vials - the caps are just too difficult to remove (and replace) and essential oils have a tendancy to evaporate rather quickly. Or the worse yet, they begin to leak.
So our search began in earnest the first of this year to find some tiny screw-top capped vials that would work. That could hold the essential oils without an orifice reducer, can still use a pipette to obtain the oil and wouldn't spill out all the oil if knocked over.
Plus we needed to find Clear for our Sample sizes and Amber for the 2 mL size.
The Clear Sample Vial will not be filled to the top as that would be a full 2mL but you will get the same as you used to get with the Perfumer's vial. You will still get 15-20 drops. A workable amount of essential oils.
We hope you will like the ease of getting your essential oils out of these new vials.
It is a change, but we feel it is a good change - one to protect your precious Oils and make
it easier for you to use them when blending.
We do suggest you purchase additional dispoable pipettes or glass droppers for use with these new vials. There are NO ORIFICE REDUCERS that fit these new vials. So you WILL NEED A PIPETTE or DROPPER.
As stated above we do include ONE complimentary Pipette with each Sample or 2mL Vial of Oil purchased, but you may want to have extras so you don't have to clean them so often.
We will still have the Perfumer's Vials and the 2 mL Shorties with orifice reducers available for purchase for those of you that prefer to Switch them over yourself or for blending purposes. Please see our Bottles Page for those items.
